Semtech 无线和传感产品事业部消费者传感产品高级总监 David Wong 与 engineering.com 就传感器平台方面有一段谈话。他说，任何消费类电子器件都可以使用 PerSe 技术，感知与器件交互的人类用户，并使用距离信息来优化安全性和连接性。
Holding a smartphone in your pocket, for example, would drive the sensors to minimize the radio frequency Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) to minimize risk to the user. After the user pulls the smartphone out of their pocket and uses it to make a call, the sensors can tell the phone to boost the signal for a better connection.
Three Branches of Sensors for Consumer Electronics
PerSe 包括三类传感器：PerSe Connect、PerSe Connect Pro 和 PerSe Control。PerSe Connect 可与 5G、4G 和 Wi-Fi 器件配合使用，以增强智能手机和笔记本电脑的连接性。公司援引 IDC 的一篇文章称，到 2022 年底，全球智能手机需求的一半以上将基于 5G。
PerSe Connect Pro 传感器专为 mmWave 5G 智能手机、笔记本电脑和平板电脑而设计。Connect Pro 传感器将具有更长的传感距离，以最大程度地降低射频 (RF) 辐射的风险。PerSe Control 致力于让可穿戴设备在使用过程中享有更高程度的控制。传感器将结合人体检测和自动开/关支持。手势控制、噪音消除和媒体播放器控制功能也可以集成到 Control 传感器中。
Wong 强调，传感器平台将致力于提高产品的性能、智能和易用性。模拟前端器件可以提供更长的检测距离或更小的传感区域。智能人体感应功能会在感测到人类与无生命物体时切换模式，其温度补偿功能将有助于减少误报。PerSe 的尺寸和功耗都以最小化为目标，最大限度地提高它们在电池供电的电子器件中的实用性。

This push by Semtech toward more intelligence and control in its sensors reflects the global desire to have control over all of our products. Not many of us dreamed ten or twenty years ago that we would have door locks, glasses, or coffee cups with smart technology attached, but that’s the world we live in now.
David Wong 表示，Semtech 的组件和传感器早已应用于众多消费电子器件，对客户和企业而言，转为使用智能传感十分合理。终端用户希望可以更好地控制他们的器件和可穿戴设备，推动了一线供应商采用更智能的技术。打造更小、更安全的传感器，为用户提供更多控制体验和更好的连接性，这听起来绝对是正确的方向。
